Abstract

The study examined the effect of market orientation on performance of SMEs in Ado Ekiti.Specifically, this study is designed to examine the effect of Inter-functional orientation amongSMEs in Ado Ekiti Metropolis, examine the relationship between competitor orientation andSMEs performance in Ado Ekiti Metropolis and examine the relationship between customerorientation and SMEs orientation Performance in Ado Ekiti MetropolisPopulation constitutes the target of a study and must be clearly defined and identifled. Thepopulation for this study covers all the 354-register small and medium scale enterprise in Adolocal government, Ekiti State. (Source, Nigeria Directory, 2023). Using Taro Yamane, thesample size of this study was 188 SMEs and the technique with which the selected based onsimple random technique. Data collected was coded, classified and tabulated. The data wasanalyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. Descriptivestatistics (frequencies and percentages) was used for background information of therespondents. The result was presented using frequency and percentage Tables. To test thepostulated hypotheses, simple linear regression was tested at 0.05 level of significance.Through the analysis, it was discovered that that the null hypothesis, Inter-functionalOrientation does not significantly affect performance of small and medium enterprises is nottrue therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected
