Abstract
This study investigates the impact of multi collinearity in count data models by comparingMaximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) and Poisson Ridge Regression models, specificallyusing soccer performance data from Real Madrid FC overall 15-years period. The analysisfocuses on the relationship between match-related variables (e.g. matches won, penalty kicks,yellow/red cards) and goal count to identify the model that offers superior predictive accuracyunder multi collinearity conditions
