Abstract
In understanding of nation's political, economic and social settings is very imperative for a alistic formulation and implementation of its foreign policy. This implies that a proper nderstanding of Nigeria's political economy is very critical and probably the only basis for omprehending and interpreting the nature and content of the country's foreign policy. dopting a political economy approach therefore, this paper examines the nexus between the ructure of Nigeria's economy and its foreign policy initiatives from 1985 to 1993 when General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida ruled Nigeria as military president.
