Abstract
The integration of Information Technology (IT) into education has transformed the way subjects are taught and learned, particularly in the sciences. This study explores the impact of using Information Technology in teaching biology in selected secondary schools within Kano Municipal Local Government, emphasizing its influence on teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and learning outcomes. The research adopts a descriptive survey design, focusing on six secondary schools. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from biology teachers. The study reveals that IT significantly improves the teaching and learning of biology by making complex concepts more accessible and engaging. However, challenges such as inadequate facilities, poor electricity, and insufficient training limit effective IT integration. The study concludes that IT holds immense potential for revolutionizing biology education, recommending investment in infrastructure, teacher training, and clear ICT policies in schools.
