Abstract
This study investigated the impact of quality leadership and inclusive democracy on grassroots development, focusing on Babatunde Raji Fashola's administration in Lagos State, Nigeria. Research employed a descriptive approach, analyzed using SPSS with data collected through questionnaires administered to local government officials to gather data on quality leadership, inclusive democracy, and key indicators of grassroots development in economic growth, citizen engagement, and social progress. Statistical analysis using SPSS revealed a significant positive correlation between quality leadership and grassroots development (R² = 0.812), with strong impacts on economic growth, citizen engagement, and social progress. The findings suggest that Fashola's administration's strategic planning, citizen engagement initiatives, and empowerment programs contributed to improved economic outcomes, increased citizen participation, and enhanced social well-being. Based on the findings, it is recommended that policymakers and leaders prioritize quality leadership and inclusive democracy to drive grassroots development by: promoting transparency and accountability, increasing citizen participation, implementing sustainable projects, building leadership and advocacy skills, collaborating with stakeholders, and monitoring and evaluating programs. Future research should delve deeper into specific factors influencing the success of quality leadership and inclusive democracy, such as leadership dynamics, engagement strategies, resource mobilization, partnership building, and governance structures. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative interviews could generate deeper insights to tailor interventions that enhance the effectiveness of quality leadership and inclusive democracy and maximize their impact on local development and health outcomes. Keywords: Quality Leadership, Inclusive Democracy, Grassroots Development.
