Effects of Collective Bargaining on Employee Job Satisfaction and Conflict Management in the Osun State Civil Service Commission, Osogbo, Nigeria: a Study of Distributive, Integrative, and Composite Bargaining Approaches

Abstract
The study investigated the effect of collective bargaining on job satisfaction in the Osun State Civil Service Commission, Osogbo, Nigeria. Specifically, the study examined effects of distributive, integrative and composite bargaining on conflict management in the Civil Service Commission of Osun State, Nigeria. The study adopted the survey method. Questionnaire was used to collect primary data needed for the study. Both primary and secondary data were used for the study. The study population comprised 130 respondents, selected through stratified sampling technique. Data were analyzed with the aid of descriptive statistics such as frequency counts and percentage as well as inferential statistics of regression analysis. The findings showed that distributive bargaining had significant and positive effect on employee job satisfaction in the Civil Service Commission of Lagos State, Nigeria. Also, findings from the study indicated that integrative collective bargaining had significant and positive effect on employee job satisfaction in the Civil Service Commission of Lagos State, Nigeria. Furthermore, the results of the study showed that composite bargaining significantly and positively influenced conflict management in the civil service commission of Osun State. Based on the findings, the study concluded that increase in distributive, integrative and composite collective bargaining led to a significant increase in conflict management especially in the Civil Service Commission of Osun State, Nigeria. The study recommended that the government, employers of labour and labour leaders should place more emphasis collective bargaining to enhance employee job satisfaction.
