Implications of Family Instability on Child Upbringing in Jalingo Taraba State

Abstract
This study investigates the implications of family instability on child upbringing in Jalingo LGA, Nigeria. Utilizing a survey of 200 respondents, the research explores the multifaceted relationship between family instability and child well-being, encompassing emotional, psychological, social, and moral development. It examines how different forms of family instability, such as divorce, separation, and remarriage, influence child-rearing practices within Jalingo LGA. The study also identifies factors contributing to family instability and their impact on child development. Finally, it investigates potential protective factors and interventions that can mitigate the negative consequences of family instability on children in Jalingo LGA. By examining these factors, the study aims to inform the development of supportive interventions for families experiencing instability and promote positive child development outcomes within the community
