An Assessment of the Use of Stickers by Keke Napep Riders (adaidaita) in Kano Metropolis

Abstract
ABSTRACTThis research assesses the use of stickers by Keke Napep Riders (Adaidaita) in Kano Metropolis, with a view to creating passenger awareness and branding of their business. A mixed-method was used for the study incorporating quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques. Qualitative interviews were conducted with 20 Keke Napep riders to gather insights into their motivations for using specific stickers and the perceived benefits. Additionally, a structured questionnaire was distributed to 300 passengers patronizing sing Keke Napep services to quantify their perceptions regarding sticker usage, brand recognition and general satisfaction. The study revealed that stickers serve as effective branding tools for Keke Napep riders, enhancing visibility and recognition among passengers. The qualitative data indicated that riders believe stickers contribute positively to their business by attracting passengers and enhancing cultural recognition, of their business. Quantitative analysis showed that a majority of the surveyed passengers recognised the usage of stickers on Keke Napep and associated them with specific services or promotions. Furthermore, a significant correlation was found between sticker visibility and passenger choice of Keke Napep service. The findings suggest that the strategic use of stickers by Keke Napep riders in Kano Metropolis not only aids in branding but also influences passenger decisions positively.
