Effects of Burnout and Stress on Work Performance Among Workers of Access Bank in Ado-Ekiti

Abstract
The study determined the impact of burnout and stress on work performance in Access Bank Plc AdEkiti. The specific objectives included examining the impact of workload on employee stress andburnout and assessing the relationship between job security and employee stress levels at AccessEkiti Bank Plc Ado Ekiti. The study explored the relationship between job stress and various aspectsof employee pperformance, including job satisfaction and work efficiency. Data were gathered fromemployees across different departments within Access Bank Plc Ado Ekiti. The research highlightedthe effects of stress on staff performance. The findings from the study provided insights into howworkload, job security, and work-life balance affect employee performance. The descriptive statisticsrevealed that employees generally perceived their performance and workplace factors positively,with employee performance having the highest mean score among the variables. However,variability was noted in how respondents experienced workload and job security, suggesting a mixedperception in these areas. The correlation analysis showed a strong positive relationship betweenwork-life balance and employee performance (r = 0.730), indicating that employees who experienceda good balance between work and personal life tended to perform better. Job security also showed amoderate positive correlation with performance (r = 0.447), while workload had a weaker positiverelationship (r = 0.327). The findings have provided strong empirical support for the conclusion thatcertain internal organizational factors significantly impact the level of satisfaction employeesexperience at work and their willingness to remain within the organization over time.
