Abstract

This study was conducted in the laboratory to evaluate the toxicity of Psidium guajava stem bark extracts and powders against Callosobruchus maculatus infesting stored cowpea seeds. The powder stem bark powder was extracted with ethanol, at 60oC, using Soxhlet extractor. The extract was treated on the cowpea seeds at the dosage of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 mL/20g while the powder was treated at 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0g/20g.
