Abstract
The study examines the effects of Performance Appraisals on Organizational Productivity: A study of Nigeria Breweries Kaduna PLC. The specific objectives of the study are to determine the effect of appraisal training and development on organization productivity, examine the impact of appraisal feedback and communication on organization productivity and investigate the effect of appraisal motivation and reward system on organization productivity. The study also made use of primary data sourced from 217 respondents via the use of questionnaire. The study employs a survey research method, administering a structured questionnaire to gather quantitative data from staff on the effect of performance appraisal on organizational productivity in Nigeria Breweries Kaduna, PLC. With the use of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0 three hypothesis was tested using the chi square method. Appraisal training and development involves organizational processes designed to improve employee's knowledge, skills, and capabilities which will lead to organizational productivity, Appraisal feedback and communication contribute to organizational productivity by allowing consistency, clarity and also create an open and meaningful dialogue between the managers and employees, Appraisal motivation and reward system improves organization productivity by providing fair recognition and rewards that motivate employees to work harder and align their goals with the organization goals. Findings of the study revealed a positive and significant relationship between training and development, motivation and reward system and feedback and communication on organizational productivity. Therefore, the study concludes that training and development, motivation and reward, feedback and communication affect organization productivity positively. It was recommended organizations should develop and implement performance appraisal methods that would facilitate effective appraisal of the employees and hence providing opportunities to the organization for effective growth and development.
