The Effects of Family Instability and Juvenile Delinquency on Junior Secondary School Students' Learning Outcomes in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State

Abstract
ABSTRACTThe study investigated the effects of family instability and Juvenile delinquency on juniorsecondary school student's learning outcomes in Ondo west local government area of Ondo state. A descriptive research design was adopted for the study. Five research questions are formulated and tested. One hundred participants were randomly selected from five (5) schools in Ondo west local government, Ondo state. Based on the outcome of the findings, it vwas revealed that cause of broken homes on students learning outcomes include: attitudinal differences between husband and wife, the use of abusive language on spouse, lack of love, lack of trust, lack of tolerance, distance between husband and wife. The effects of family instability on students learning outcomes include: lateness to school, irregularity in school attendance, lack of parental support and poor reading culture. Therefore, the study recommends that couples should avoid the use of abusive language at home and couples should endeavor to live together as husband and wife.
