Abstract
ABSTRACT The study focused on Perception of Youth on The Use of social media As a Platform for Entrepreneurship, A Study of Auchi Polytechnic Students. The essence of the study is to see how social media can be used for entrepreneurship among youth. The study used the survey design. A sample of 400 respondent were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The study concluded that social media in Nigeria has mainly been used as a tool for entertainment especially amongst youth in Nigeria. Politicians during elections use the medium to promote their agenda. Activist uses the medium to campaign for various change. The study then recommended that youth should attend seminars, online classes through Zoom and other webinars to know how they can use social media for entrepreneurship purposes instead of using the medium for entertainment purposes. Youth spend their resources in buying data, airtime and making various subscription for social media site in order to have fun when such resources should be utilized in gaining knowledge on how to use social media for entrepreneurship purposes
