Investigation Into Teacher's Attitude and School Environment on Student Academic Performance on Biology in Osun State Secondary Schools

​AbstractThis study examines the investigation into teacher’s attitude and the school environment on students' academic performance in biology in Osun State. The research aims to explore how teacher behavior, teaching methods, and interpersonal relationships within the classroom influence students' learning outcomes. Additionally, the study examines the role of the school environment, including facilities, resources, and school culture, in shaping students' engagement and achievement in biology. A mixed-methods approach was employed, incorporating both quantitative surveys to assess teacher attitudes and school conditions, and qualitative interviews to gather in-depth perspectives from students, teachers, and administrators. Data was analyzed to identify correlations between teacher attitudes, school environmental factors, and students’ academic performance. The findings suggest that positive teacher attitudes, characterized by enthusiasm, support, and effective communication, significantly contribute to improved student performance. Moreover, a conducive school environment, marked by adequate resources, a positive school culture, and a safe learning atmosphere, further enhances academic outcomes. The study concludes by recommending strategies to foster better teacher-student relationships and improve the physical and social school environment to boost biology students' academic performance.
