Ten (10)) schools in the area of the research were sampled and used for the investigation. The major instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire which were administered to sampled respondents. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage while the research hypotheses were tested using T-test method of data analysis Findings indicated that there is a significant difference between students taught with the use of instructional materials and those taught without in economies in the selected schools. Teacher’s proficiency in the teaching of economics is equally found to be enhanced with the use of instructional materials. It was thus recommended that the Ministry of Education and school authority should organize seminars on the use of instructional materials. Emphasis should also be placed on the improvisation of instructional materials by teachers.
