The study concludes that Facebook posts have a significant influence on both the perception and awareness of BVAS during the 2023 Imo State gubernatorial election. The predominantly negative perceptions of BVAS, as reflected in Facebook posts, highlight the public’s distrust and dissatisfaction with the system, underscoring the challenges in gaining public acceptance for electoral technologies. The researcher recommends that electoral bodies should develop and implement effective communication strategies to address public concerns and build trust in BVAS. This includes transparent information campaigns on the benefits and security measures of BVAS, leveraging social media platforms to reach a wider audience.
