Knowledge Attitude and Practice of Mothers Towards Exclusive Breastfeeding Among People Attending Kumbotso Primary Healthcare Unit of Kano State

Abstract
This study assessed the knowledge, attitude, and practice of exclusive breastfeeding among women attending Kumbotso Primary Health Care Unit in Kano State. A descriptive survey design was employed, targeting breastfeeding mothers within a total population of approximately 2,500 people. A sample size of 108 was used for this study. A self-designed questionnaire, validated by the researcher’s supervisor, was used for data collection. Data were analyzed using simple percentages. Based on the findings, the following recommendations are made, Public awareness campaigns: Increase community-based education on exclusive breastfeeding beyond antenatal clinics, Family involvement: Educate husbands and relatives on the importance of supporting exclusive breastfeeding, Healthcare support: Provide continuous postnatal follow-up and counselling to address concerns about breast milk sufficiency
