Evaluating the Significance of Technological Advancement and Innovations on the Effectiveness of Hotel Organisation in Osun State (a Study of Selected Hotels in Ede, Osogbo and Ile-Ife Respectively)

The growing competition in the hotel industry is one of the main challenges of this segment, which increasingly depends on the ability to innovate. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the significance of technological advancement and innovations on the effectives of hotel industry in Osun state. This is an exploratory study, with a quantitative approach using a structured self-administered questionnaire to 130 staff of hotels, located in Osun state. Data analysis used multiple linear regression method with SPSS software to find out if technological advancement and innovations have significant effect on the effectives of hospitality industry in Osun state. Results show that R column with 0.570 (57%) shows there is a relationship between the variables. Although there is establishment of relationship, the R square and Adjusted R square column reveal that the relationship is not strong enough with values 0.325 (32%) and 0.320 (32%) respectively. This shows that p - value of 0.000 in the sig. column of the Anova Table indicates that there is a level of significance existing between the variables as 0.000 is lower than the set 0.05. Thesig. column of the Co - efficient Table shows that, the dependent variable has a verymhigh significant effect on the independent variable. The researcher thereforemconcluded that that technological advancement and innovations have a significant effect on the effectives of hospitality industry in Osun state. Thus, the study recommended that the hotel industry should endeavor to train their personnel on how to use technological deceives and their application so as to easy their daily operations for both staff and customers of the hotel
