Exploring the Dimensions of Academic Satisfaction Among Tertiary Institution Students, a Case Study of Auchi Polytechnic

Abstract
Enhancing academic satisfaction can result in students feeling good about their academicachievement and having greater confidence in their skills. Student achievement can benefitfrom a sense of satisfaction in their studies. This study set out to ascertain the relationshipbetween academic achievement and academic satisfaction of students. A descriptiveresearch approach was used for the study. The population was the school of ICT studentsof Auchi polytechnic, Auchi and the sample was 313 students from one school and fourdepartments, selected through a multistage random sampling technique. The instrumentwas the academic satisfaction scale. The collected data was analyzed through frequencies,mean score, independent sample t-test, and Pearson correlation. The major conclusionwas that there was no relationship between academic satisfaction and academicachievement of students. A strong relationship between academic satisfaction anda c a d e m i c a c h i e v e m e n t w a s f o u n d . !, so it is r e c o m m e n d e d t h a t the s c h o o l a d m i n i s t r a t i o n a n dheads of departments take the necessary steps to provide the facilities required for thestudents to boost their academic satisfaction
