Abstract
This study investigates the impact of industrial development and manufacturing on Nigeria’s economic growth, focusing on their contributions to employment generation, income expansion, and industrial output. Using secondary data obtained from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the National Bureau of Statistics, and the World Bank, the study examines key indicators such as manufacturing value-added, industrial capacity utilization, and GDP growth rate over time. The findings reveal that industrial and manufacturing activities play a significant role in promoting economic diversification and reducing dependence on oil revenues. However, issues such as inadequate infrastructure, poor energy supply, and limited access to finance continue to hinder optimal performance. The study concludes that strengthening industrial policies, improving power supply, and fostering technological innovation are essential for enhancing the manufacturing sector’s contribution to Nigeria’s sustainable economic development.
