Assessment of the Impact of the Library on the Academic Activities of Undergraduate Students of Library and Information Science at Abu, Zaria.

This project examined the “Assessment of the Impact of the Library on the Academic Activities of Undergraduate Students of Library and Information Science at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria”. The study adopted survey research design and the population of the study consist of undergraduate students of library and information science. Stratified random sampling method was used to select (400) students; the researcher used a self-developed and validated questionnaire for the collection of data and 95% was collected back from the field and were subjected to analysis. The study found that majority of the respondents engage in the utilization of library resource as an essential for enhancing their academic performance, fostering scholarly inquiry and promoting lifelong learning, relationship between library use and academic performance among undergraduate students at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is characterized by a positive correlation, with students who utilize library resources and services demonstrating higher levels of academic success, improved learning outcomes and enhanced research skills. The following recommendations were made, libraries should continuously assess and expand their collections to ensure they meet the diverse academic needs of undergraduate students, libraries should invest in technology infrastructure to enhance access to electronic resources and facilitate digital research. Finally libraries should design collaborative learning spaces equipped with modern technology and flexible seating arrangements to accommodate different learning preferences and group sizes. These spaces should foster collaboration, creativity, and peer-to-peer learning among students
