Abstract
The adsorption of heavy metals on natural clay minerals and oxides is a major challenge in the their modified forms as sorbing agents for treating drinking water and their sources. The study understand the processes of competitive sorption/desorption from multi-metal solutions of treatment of drinking water. This paper reviews the recent development of natural clays and clay minerals, highlighting the key findings and gaps in knowledge. The studies aimed to aims to provide an overview of the existing research on the sorption behaviour of Fe and Cr on these metals, and their interactions with clay minerals.
