The Influence of Instructional Media in Teaching and Learning of Visual Arts in Senior Secondary Schools in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State.

This study is designed to assess the influence of instructional media in teaching and learning of Visual Arts in senior secondary schools in Nsukka Local Government of Enugu state. Four research questions were formulated to guide this study, the research questions are: What are the available instructional media used in the teaching and learning of Visual Arts in senior secondary schools, to what extent are instructional media used in teaching and learning of Visual Arts in senior secondary schools, what are the challenges of using instructional media in teaching and learning of Visual Arts in senior secondary schools, what are the solution to the challenges of using instructional media in teaching and learning Visual Arts in senior secondary schools. The sample of the study comprised of 120 research subjects. A survey research design was adopted while simple random sampling technique was used in drawing of sample size for the study. Questionnaire was the major instrument used for data collection. It was validated and the reliability was also established before it was finally administered. The data collected were analyzed using frequency percentages, mean and standard deviation. The major findings of study showed that most of the available instructional media in schools are not adequate and equally not utilized, majority of the respondents agreed that the listed items in table 3 and 4 in chapter four are the problems and possible solutions to the use of instructional media. Based on the result recommendations, implications, suggestions for further research, limitation and Summary were made.
