Abstract
This project examines the role of electronic media, specifically Voice 89.9 FM, in promoting the relationship between government and citizens for effective governance. It examines how it facilitate communication, engagement, and accountability.The importance of this study is to enhance better communication, interactivity in order to eradicate false information and misunderstanding between the government and the citizens.Two theories were employed in this study which are the stakeholder theory, and agency theory. These theories emphasises free access to information and also that the citizens must be informed equally. The relevance is to build trust, promote transparency, accountability so as to have effective governance.The methodology adopted for this study is the descriptive survey research design. It is a quantitative research approach used to describe a situation or phenomenon. The population of the study comprises of Ado Ekiti citizens.
