The Influence of Technological Devices Usage on Student's Learning of English Language in Junior Secondary School in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Abstract
ABSTRACTThis study determined the influence of technological devices usage on student's learning of English language in junior secondary schools English language in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State. A sample of 200 students comprising 116 males and 84 females were drawn from five schools and used for the study, Data were analysed with the use of descriptive statistics (percentages and mean) in SPSS and presented in tables and figures. Questionnaire was used for data collection. The Descriptive Research Method was adopted in the study.The result showed that a great number of students acknowledged the positive influence of technological devices in their learning of English language. It is crystal clear that students learn English Language better with the use of Technological devices. The respondents agreed to the fact that there are availability of Technological devices for learning of English language in junior secondary schools with the mean score (2.65). The students also agreed to the fact that technological devices positively influence their performance when learning English language with the mean score (3.32). The third research question was also accept by the respondents, that the available technological devices in the school are well utililzed with the mean score of (2.82).From the findings of this study, it can be concluded that technological devices from all indications is an important tool in the educational system. It should be observed from the finding that technological devices provide enthusiasm in the minds of the students. Therefore, private ownership of schools and most especially government should ensure that more technological devices are provided to the schools to assist the students and the teachers. And also, most importantly the devices should be well utilized when teaching so as to assist the students in acquiring knowledge and language skills.To this end, based on the outcome of the findings, the following recommendations were made; the government should ensure provision of more technological devices and also advanced ones, government should also provide more funds to schools towards the maintenance of the devices. More so, the non-governmental organization (NGO) proprietors and philanthropists should also help towards the provision and maintenance of technological devices. Teaching requires having a grasp of full knowledge of the subject matter. Therefore the period and durational located for teaching and learning of English language in junior secondary schools using technological devices should be considered in order to favor both students and teachers.
