An Electronic Catalog System for Aau Library

ABSTRACTThe impact and potential of information and communication technology have greatly affected almost all aspect of human endeavor including providing online library for researchers and students. However, little of these impacts have been felt in the area of catalog in our library system which make the process of accessing research materials in the library to be cumbersome, tedious to use and handle effectively. Hence in this project work, we have successfully analyzed, designed and developed an electronic catalog system for AAU library. The system was developed using SQL Server and Microsoft Visual Studio as the Integrated Development Environment (IDE), C-sharp and SQL programming languages were used to drive the logic of the application. The result form this application shows that if this system is fully implemented, it will go a long way to eliminate the difficulties behind the normal manual system of catalog in the University (AAU) Library.
