Factors Associated With the Mass Failure in History Among Secondary School Students in Owerri Municipal Area of Imo State

Abstract
The Research work focused on the factors associated with , mass failure in History among senior secondary school students in Owerri municipal of Imo State. The work did Research in order to find out the factors associated with mass failure in History. A descriptive survey was adopted for the Research. The study population consisted of 25 students selected at random who formed the sample. 16 Research questions were formulated and administered to the study population. The 25 students selected at random from the five (5) selected public secondary schools in Owerri municipal participated and a four point rating scale of strongly Agreed (SA), Agreed (A), Disagreed (D), And strongly Disagreed (SD) was applied for data analysis. Data collected was analyzed using tables and mean statistical tools. Finding that there are factors associated with mass failure in history among senior secondary school students in Owerri Municipal based on the findings obtained from the study, the researcher recommends the employment of only trained and qualified teachers for the subject the researcher also recommends that the government should show more interest in the subject to avoid losing its value.
