Abstract
ABSTRACTThe construction industry is currently undergoing a profound technological transformation, andat the forefront of this evolution is the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This researchproject delves into a comprehensive examination of the adoption of AI in sustainableconstruction practices, seeking to address the central problem of how AI technologies areshaping the future of the construction sector. Employing a mixed-methods research approach, including the analysis of case studies, in-depth interviews with industry experts, and a thoroughreview of existing literature, this study explores the benefits, challenges, and potential impacts ofAI across various dimensions of the construction industry, including design, planning, projectmanagement, and resource optimization. The findings of this research reveal the transformativepotential of AI in construction. AI technologies have been shown to significantly enhanceproductivity, improve decision-making processes, reduce environmental impacts, and enhancesafety measures on construction sites. Notably, AI-driven predictive analytics have proveneffective in predicting material requirements, thus reducing waste and contributing tosustainability efforts. Moreover, AI-powered monitoring systems provide real-time data onenergy consumption and emissions, allowing for more efficient environmental management. Inconclusion, this study underscores that AI is poised to revolutionize the construction industry, aligning it more closely with sustainability goals. However, challenges such as initial costs andthe need for a skilled AI workforce remain. Nevertheless, the major conclusion drawn from thisresearch is that the construction sector must continue to invest in AI education and training, foster collaboration among stakeholders, prioritize safety, and explore funding options to fullyrealize AI's potential in advancing sustainable construction practices. This research underscoresthe significance of ongoing research and investment in AI to promote sustainability within theconstruction industry..
