Abstract
This project examines the effect of conflict management on organizational effectiveness a case study of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State. The main objective of the study is to determine if organizational conflict affect employee performance. To achieve this, the researcher made use of primary data and secondary date. A total population of 150 while a simple random sample was used to derive a sample size of one hundred and thirty seven (137)that was studied as a representative of the entire population, structured questionnaire designed by the researcher was used to collect data. The data collected were analyzed using the Z – test to test the hypothesis formulated. The result of the findings revealed that the causes of the conflict include poor communication, organizational policies, individual goals, management style, ineffective reward system and poor superior-subordinate relationship. It was recommended among others that Management should ensure that there is effective communication between the management team and subordinates. This will ensure that all are aware of management policies and actions as well as contributory to decision-making in the organization
