Abstract
This study investigates the rewinding of single-phase induction motors to enhancetheir performance with an emphasis on efficiency, power factor, and operationalstability. While a three-winding configuration was initially proposed, only theconventional two-winding structure was successfully implemented and analyzed dueto technical challenges. Using Ansys Maxwell RMxprt simulations and experimentaltesting, including load and no-load assessments, the rewound motor showedimprovements, achieving a power factor of 0.97 and an efficiency of 73.85% underreal testing conditions. Challenges included power supply instability and motorstartup issues in the three winding experimental setups. These findings highlight thepotential of rewinding as a practical, cost-effective strategy to enhance motorperformance. Future work is recommended to explore advanced materials andmodular winding approaches, aiming for even greater efficiency and adaptability insingle-phase induction motors for both domestic and industrial applications.
