Abstract
The study focused on Users’ Perception of Citizen Journalism and Its Implication for National Security in Edo State. The essence of the study is to determine how citizen journalism influences national security. The study concluded that citizen journalism incorporates every member of the society opinion on certain issues in the society and how to address them. It is easier to use such platform than the main stream platform where information is only one way. The study then recommends that people understanding should be enlightened on the relevance of citizen journalism in our current society in addressing various issues such as national security. They should be equipped on the various ways citizen journalism can be used and also how to be citizen journalist and that Nigerians’ perception of citizen journalism as a concern to national security should be readdressed. Instead, they should be made to see citizen journalism as an avenue to promote national security.
