The Interpretative and Communicative Functions of Costumes: a Review of King of Thieves by Yinka Laoye.

Literally, in the Nollywood at large but especially Yoruba Nollywood, it is noticed that costume is an aspect where directors, and the producers neglects or handles with levity hand, they careless and fund less costume segment thinking costumes does not have a vital role that it plays in a movie, most costumes are not being effectively used or proper costumes are not being used for actors most times in movie and this has brought about ineffective interpretative function of a costume on a character or of the role of a character . The aim of this research work is to make the interpretative function of costume known to the people and to those that are in the industry to know how important costumes are in the movies. In bid to achieve a detailed goal of this research work, this researcher will make use of quantitative research method in which case study is a tool of the research analysis. I will recommend this work of art to the directors, producers and also the costumiers out there to have a well reading of this book so as to know how important and the interpretative functions of costume is to film industry and also to change ways in which they fund costumes segment by funding costumes in a production more and by not taking it with levity because it is an important area in theatre in whole.
