The Impact of Employee Performance Appraisal on the Achievement of Organization Goal(a Case Study of Nigeria Bottling Company Plc (coca Cola)

ABSTRACTPerformance appraisal is often included in performance management systems. Performance appraisal helps the subordinate answer two key questions. First, “what are your expectations of me?’ Second, “How am i doing to meet your expectations?” The main objectives of this project work are to examine the impact of employee performance on the achievement of organizational goals” using Nigeria Bottling Company Plc. (Coca Cola) as case study. For the purpose of this study, 50 questionnaires were sent out and all were filled and returned. Data were collected by means of structured questionnaires while simple percentage was adopted and chi-squared method was used to test hypotheses. These findings revealed that for employees to meaningfully contribute their quota towards achieving firm ‘s objectives, there must be goal setting for every units which must be collectively pursued, good team work among departmental unit and departmental heads, training and retraining of employees, constant review of personnel policies to eliminate deficiencies, good and effective organizational structure which provides good line of communication and reporting responsibilities among employees etc. however recommend, Good performance should be rewarded by the firm (eg cash or kind) which serves as a morale booster. Management By Objective technique should be greatly emphasized in the culture of the firm.
