Abstract
The demand for accessible and sustainable energy solutions has increased in response to the ongoing energy shortages and unreliable power supply in rural communities. This study focuses on examining a solar system installation designed specifically for charging phones to meet the growing need for mobile connectivity and communication in rural areas. The main goal was to evaluate the viability, affordability, and sustainability of implementing a small-scale solar power system that meets the energy requirements of rural communities for phone charging. The methodology involved conducting a cost analysis aligned with the community’s load demand by carrying out needs assessments of rural dwellers, evaluating load demand, and determining the cost implications of the required equipment. The successful implementation of the project demonstrates the cost-effectiveness and environmental friendliness of renewable energy, particularly solar energy. The results highlight how solar energy can serve as a cost-effective and environmentally responsible solution to alleviate energy poverty in rural areas, especially for essential needs such as phone charging.
