Evaluation of the Performance of Various Flooring Materials in High-Traffic Areas in the Restaurant

Abstract
The study evaluated the performance of various flooring materials in high-traffic areas a case study of federal polytechnic Ede's training restaurant. It highlighted the different types of flooring materials used in high-traffic areas and evaluated the performance of each flooring material in terms of durability, maintenance, and aesthetic value Primary data was used for this study. The population of this study comprises the workers in restaurant at Federal Polytechnic Ede. A case study method was adopted: questionnaires were used to provide the need information from the research subject questions. Findings showed that the flooring in the training restaurant is perceived as functional, durable, and safe, but there are areas where improvements can be made, particularly concerning comfort for long-standing periods, the appearance, and slip resistance in certain conditions. The study concluded that the flooring materials in the training restaurant at Federal Polytechnic Ede was largely perceived as durable by the majority of respondents. However, some students felt that the material may require occasional maintenance or that it could perform better under heavy use. The study recommended that regular assessments be conducted to monitor the condition of the flooring materials, especially in high-traffic areas, to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of the restaurant and its users.
