Abstract
This study investigates the health status of 42 school-aged children in Agaie, Niger State, Nigeria, through an assessment of anthropometric measurements (height, weight, BMI) and haemoglobin levels. Malnutrition and anaemia, common issues in this population, are explored using BMI, while haemoglobin levels assess iron deficiency and anaemia prevalence. Socioeconomic and environmental factors are considered as they influence dietary intake and health outcomes. Results reveal a high prevalence of under-weight of 71.4% and anaemia of 54.8% among the children, underscoring the need for targeted nutritional interventions and health programs. Recommendations include implementing school-based feeding programs, nutritional supplementation, and educational initiatives on balanced diets to improve children's health and development
