Abstract

This research explores the life, scholarly achievements and lasting contributions of Professor Emeritus Sani Zahradeen, a distinguished Islamic scholar and academic in Nigeria. The study highlights his early life, educational background, academic journey at Bayero University Kano, and his roles in the development of Islamic education and religious leadership. It also examines his influence in promoting Qur’anic studies, interfaith dialogue and intellectual growth in Northern Nigeria. The findings reveal that Prof. Zahradeen’s legacy extends beyond the classroom to national religious advisory roles, mentorship and academic reforms that shaped modern Islamic scholarship in Nigeria.
