Abstract
This project present, Design and Implementation of text to speech conversion for visually impaired people. A Text-To-Speech (TTS) synthesizer is an application that converts text into spoken word, by analyzing and processing the text using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and then using Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to convert this processed text into synthesized speech representation of the text. The aim and objectives of this project is to develop a useful text-to-speech and reads out to the user which can then be saved as an mp3 file. The development of a text to speech synthesizer will be of great help to people with visual impairment and make through large volume of text easier. The Text-To-Speech (TTS) system gets the text as the input and then a computer algorithm which called Text-To-Speech (TTS) engine analyses the text, pre-processes the text and synthesizes the speech with some mathematical models was designed, implemented and evaluated. It is therefore concluded that a text to speech conversation for visually impaired people that is capable of providing a user friendly and accessible means of text to speech conversation for visually impaired people has been developed. The programming language used to implement this project is Visual Basic 6.0 are design because it is object oriented language and MYSQL use to design, create and implement the database.
