Abstract
ABSTRACT This study exploring the problematics of historical facts and film making in Nollywood's House of Ga’a”. The aim of the study is to explore the problematic of historical facts and artistic facts in House of Ga’a. The study is grounded on the New Historicism theory which a reciprocal concern with the historicity of texts and the textuality of history. The methodology adopted in this study is qualitative method of research with analysis of historical research and related literature as instrument for data gathering. The study found out that a historical film is also a way of documenting history and that even with the artistic fact in it, it is still a Historical film. The study concluded that even though a historical film has the director’s creativity in it, the film is still a Historical movie and that history is not only limited to being written it is also documented through the lens (film).
