Construction of Steel Chair, and Table and Installation of Interlocking Pavers at the Civil Engineering Department

ABSTRACT This project titled “Construction of Steel Chair and Table and Installation of Interlocking Pavers at the Civil Engineering Department” focuses on the design, fabrication, and installation of durable furniture and pavement systems suitable for academic environments. The aim of the project is to improve the functionality, aesthetics, and comfort of the Civil Engineering Department through the use of locally sourced materials and sustainable construction practices. The steel chair and table were designed based on ergonomic and structural considerations to ensure stability, user comfort, and resistance to wear and corrosion. Standard engineering processes such as material selection, cutting, welding, grinding, and painting were employed in the fabrication stages. Additionally, the installation of interlocking concrete pavers was carried out to enhance the department’s outdoor landscape, provide a stable walking surface, and reduce maintenance costs. The pavers were produced using a sand-cement mix, compacted, and properly aligned to ensure durability and drainage efficiency. The project demonstrates the practical application of civil and structural engineering principles in solving real-life infrastructural problems, emphasizing cost-effectiveness, material efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Ultimately, the project contributes to the improvement of the learning and working environment within the department.
