The Roles of Financial and Time Management Among Nail Technicians in the Beauty Industry

This study examined the roles of financial and time management among nail technicians in the beauty industry. The study specifically evaluate the influence of financial management on nail technicians in Ikere-Ekiti., explore the effect of time management on nail technicians, identify the challenges in financial management being faced by nail technicians and identify the challenges in time management being faced by nail technicians. A descriptive research design was employed for the study. The population of the study consists of nail technicians in Ikere local government A sample of one hundred (100) respondents was reached. A self-structured questionnaire was used for the study. Four research questions and four research hypotheses were formulated for the study. Data collected were analysed using frequency, percentage and mean. Chi square was used as statistical tool to analyse the research hypotheses. Based on the data analysis findings revealed that there were influences of time management on nail technicians. There were effects of financial management on nail technicians. There were challenges such as managing client appointments within a fixed time and balancing family responsibilities with work commitments. There were challenges as regards financial management such as difficulty to separate personal expenses from business expenses, lack of access to financial resources and inconsistent income that made it difficult to manage finances effectively. The study recommended that Owners of beauty salon should invest time optimally as a non-renewable resource. Stakeholders in beauty industry should Increase awareness among management and employees of the importance of time management. There is need for staff to use time management tools such as the use of a daily log to monitor their behavior and analyze these behaviors.
