Abstract
ABSTRACT Safety on construction job sites has become a subject of primary concern across construction industries worldwide. Construction work is widely perceived to be dangerous, exposing workers to high risks of injuries and illnesses. The application of technology is considered as an effective approach to improve site worker’s health and safety conditions and ensure construction safety management in general. This study provides an overview of the various types of emerging technologies available for construction health and safety management. This aim of this study to investigate digital technologies for the health and safety management in Nigeria’s Construction Industry. The study used survey research design which obtained data from the respondent which include various contractors, quantity surveyors, architects, engineers, and builders in Imo State through the use of well-structured questionnaires. It identifies that the capability of Nigeria's construction sector to adapt and adopt new technology will determine its future. Automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI) will likely be used more frequently, increasing production and efficiency. This research concludes by offering practical recommendations that it is crucial that the Nigerian government and industry players set clear norms and standards for the adoption and use of construction technology.
