Abstract
This study aims to assess the contribution of freelance presenters to the development of radio broadcasting in Osun State. Using Libertarian Media Theory, Agenda Setting Theory, and Social Responsibility Media Theory. The sample size for the study was 100 using a probability source of information with a structured questionnaire. The data analysis was done using statistical tools such as simple percentages. The basis of the findings shows that freelance presenters have a serious impact on the success and failure of broadcasting stations. If a freelance presenter is very effective and knows his/her onions, the broadcast station would be able to compete favourably. The findings show that the major challenge facing freelance presenters in radio broadcasting is a lack of funds and sponsors, with 55.6% and 33.3% attested to this claim. It was recommended that presenters should avoid making mistakes while linking programmes and enable one programme or its activities to flow freely. Broadcast station should, as a matter of fact, organise seminars and training for its staff presenters
