Influencing Family Dynamics on Adolescent Mental Health in Ado-Local Government Area in Ekiti State

Abstract

This project is basically on influencing family dynamics on adolescent mental health in Ado-Local Government Area. This study made use of descriptive research design of survey type. Thepopulation comprised of Students. One hundred and fifty (150) students were selected throughsimple random sampling technique from public secondary schools in Ado local GovernmentArea of Ekiti state. Face and content was used for this study. The result revealed that that there isa significant relationship between family authoritarian and adolescent mental health. In addition,it was revealed that the correlation that exists bbetween family authoritarian and adolescentmental health was weak and negative. Based on the result, it was recommended that governmentshould organise programs that help parents and adolescents navigate developmental changes andfoster mutual understanding. Government should develop and implement programmes thatstrengthen familial relationships, enhance parenting skills, and provide support to at-riskfamilies, thereby promoting positive youth development and reducing engagement in anti-socialbehaviour.
