Design and Production of Dual Heating and Cooling System With Integrated Humidification for Household Use

ABSTRACT This work focuses on the design and production of a dual heating and cooling system with integrated humidification for household use. The primary challenge addressed is the growing need for a versatile HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) solution capable of sustaining optimal indoor air quality and comfort levels across a broad spectrum of temperature and humidity fluctuations. The methodology employed in this work encompasses experimental testing in controlled environments, advanced performance simulations, and a detailed comparative analysis with existing systems to ensure accuracy and reliability. Key activities in the development process included precise equipment sizing, conceptual system design, procurement of high-quality components, system assembly, and rigorous testing to evaluate the performance output of the integrated solution. Results from the study demonstrate that the integrated heating, cooling, and humidification system effectively maintains desired indoor conditions, providing notable improvements in cost savings. Specifically, users can save over NGN 250,000 in upfront costs by opting for this unified system instead of installing separate heating and cooling units. The system also enhances air quality and comfort, particularly in environments with variable temperature and humidity demands. To optimize the system's functionality, it is recommended that occupancy within the space be limited to a maximum of six individuals. This ensures that the system operates within its intended capacity, delivering consistent and efficient performance.
