Abstract
Abstract This study"the challenge of curbing raw urban migration in Nigeria (a case study of Etsako west local government area, edo state) 6 to identify rural development program/projects and the extent of rural urban migration and factors responsible for rural urban migration in the study area. In conducting this study, the researchers elicited relevant data collection.three hundred and sixty seven(367) copies of questionnaires were administered to the respondents of the local government area. Subsequently, the collected data where analyzed with simple percentage and presented in frequency table for easy comprehension. The hypothesis were also tested through chi- Square from the data presentation and analysis. From the findings based on the analyze data, integrated rural development strategy has been the pointed and recommended as a feasible and variable measure towards minimizing the rate of rural of an migration in Nigeria at large and Etsako west local government area in particular.In order to minimize rural urban migration, it is recommended that an integrated rural development planning should be pursued with emphasis on the provision of basic amenities as well as provision of employment opportunities in the rural areas though the development and management of agricultural and agro based industries
