Abstract
This study investigates the root causes of conflicts in Bamidele Olumilua University and explores how dialogue serves as a vital tool for effective conflict management. Recognizing that conflict is an inevitable part of human interaction, the research emphasizes the need for transparency and fairness in school administration. It advocates incorporating dialogue into decision-making to promote mutual understanding, trust, and a peaceful academic environment. Using a survey method with 217 students and staff selected through simple random sampling, data were gathered and analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of dialogue in resolving disputes. Findings show that 86.1% of respondents believe dialogue is highly effective in managing conflicts, while 59% regard it as an essential tool for maintaining harmony. The study concludes that fostering open communication through dialogue strengthens relationships, promotes peace, and contributes to institutional growth and societal development.
