Abstract
This research focuses on the economic empowerment of rural women in Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, analyzing the factors that influence their economic activities and the outcomes of empowerment initiatives in the region. The study aims to understand the extent of women's access to financial resources, education, skill acquisition programs, and decision-making opportunities within their households and communities. Using both qualitative and quantitative research methods, data was collected through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions with women and stakeholders in the area. The findings reveal significant challenges faced by rural women, including inadequate access to credit facilities, limited educational opportunities, and cultural constraints that hinder their full participation in economic activities. However, the study also highlights success stories where empowerment programs have improved women's income levels, financial independence, and community involvement. This research underscores the importance of designing and implementing targeted policies and programs to address these challenges, promote sustainable development, and enhance the socio-economic well-being of rural women. By providing detailed insights, the study contributes to the growing discourse on gender equity and rural economic development in Nigeria.
