Abstract
Dispute resolution is a critical aspect of managing multi-tenanted properties in urban settings. This study investigates the effectiveness of dispute resolution strategies within the context of multi- tenanted city management, focusing on four different residential properties in Ilaro, Nigeria. Through a comprehensive review of literature and case studies, common types of disputes encountered in multi-tenanted properties are identified, including maintenance issues, lease conflicts, noise complaints, parking disputes, and disagreements over service charges. Various dispute resolution mechanisms, such as mediation, arbitration, tenant committees, legal recourse, and technology-assisted platforms, are evaluated for their efficacy in addressing conflicts and promoting tenant satisfaction. Additionally, the significance of tenancy agreements in governing landlord-tenant relations and clarifying rights and responsibilities is explored. By examining these strategies, this study provides valuable insights for property managers, policymakers, and participants seeking to enhance dispute resolution practices and promote sustainable development in multi-tenanted city environments.
