Abstract
ABSTRACT This project report focuses on the implementation of a 5-kilowatt solar inverter at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree's MIS Building. The project's main goal was to develop and implement a dependable and sustainable energy solution for the building, encouraging the use of renewable energy sources while lowering reliance on traditional electricity sources. With the help of four 12V/220AHtubularbatteriesandsix330Vsolarpanels,the solar inverter system was built to meet the building's daily energy needs. The system's functionality was tested in a variety of scenarios, such as bright sunshine and overcast weather. The power output was consistently near the theoretical maximum of 5 kW, and the system's energy storage and supply capabilities were effective, according to the results. The project highlights how solar energy can lower electricity costs and increase academic institutions' energy independence. It also emphasizes the technical factors that must be taken into account to successfully install solar power systems, such as load calculations, battery capacity, and inverter specifications.
